She is seeking a Bachelor's Degree in Integrated Communication. Melinda is interning with the Children's Hospital in Mobile, so she is partnering with the Children's Miracle Network (as is the entire Miss America Organization).

Melinda also volunteers with the Special Olympics. She looks forward to meeting all the wonderful citizens of Center Point as she makes appearances here throughout the year.
